The Saltbox Sauna is a wood-fired barrel sauna fixed on a trailer that can be transported to your home for private use (subject to accessibility & turning of tow vehicle and trailer). The sauna seats 4 adults comfortably but can take up to 6 people. It has a small porch for storage of small items such as mobile phones, towels, jewellery, car keys, water.
The external dimensions of the sauna on the trailer are 5.5m long: 1.6m wide and 3m high including the chimney flue. Please ensure that the sauna will fit into the location drive before booking or contact us to discuss drop-off area.
Private hire of the sauna is available any day of the week by contacting us directly. Please note we have hourly scheduled sessions on Friday & Saturday’s at various locations and the sauna might not be available to hire privately at those times unless booked at least 2 month’s in advance.
Duration of Hire
The sauna can be hired from 1 to 7 days privately unmanned with the hirer being responsible for the safe operation of the sauna. We can also offer commercial event hires (manned). Private sauna hire includes:
1 bag of kiln-dried logs
1 small bag of kindling with lighting pack

Returning the sauna
The sauna will be collected from the drop-off location at a pre-agreed time. Please ensure all belongings are removed and the internal rooms are swept clean. Please do not block the sauna in and leave sufficient room for the sauna to be hooked up to a vehicle.
By hiring the sauna privately you agree to:
- A £150 refundable deposit is payable when hiring the sauna unmanned for up to 7 days.
- The booker will be over 25 years of age (proof will be required) and will be responsible for the safe operation of the sauna during the hire period.
- The booker will be held liable for any damage over and above the value of the deposit of £200.
- Private unmanned hire is not available to young person’s under age 25 years.
- The minimum age of use is 16 years.
- The responsible person will be given verbal instructions as well as written instructions on the safe operation of the sauna. They must be available at the agreed drop-off time to receive this and the keys to the sauna.
- The responsible person must be in attendance when the sauna is in use.
- No more than 6 people are allowed in the sauna at one time.
- Users must remove shoes before entering the sauna
- Users should use a towel to sit on
- All jewellery and metal items should be removed before entering the sauna for your own and other’s safety
- The sauna stove and its’ stones can be extremely hot and should never be touched. There is a risk of serious burns.
- No alcohol or drugs should be consumed whilst using the sauna
- If anything is not working as it should during your hire you must contact Saltbox Sauna immediately and not attempt to fix this yourself.
- The sauna should only be cleaned with the supplied cleaning solution in between uses.
- Please check the ash pan 1-2 days and use the supplied container to empty its’ contents with care.
- The sauna should not be moved from the set-up location without permission from Saltbox Sauna.
- The sauna must be locked when not in use.
